History & Heritage
The history of Gush Etzion stretches from biblical times to the present day. The region witnessed fierce battles during the War of Independence and was restored to Israel in 1967. Its rich heritage can be felt in every corner – from archaeological sites and historic stories to pioneering settlement and agriculture.

The Legacy of Dovik Dov Weinstock
ReGush was founded in the spirit of Dovik Dov Weinstock – an outdoorsman and tourism pioneer who recognized the need to share the beauty and rich history of Gush Etzion with the wider public. Dovik left a profound mark on regional tourism and developed the field in Gush Etzion until the area became a remarkable travel destination.
Sadly, Dovik passed away, but his legacy lives on and continues to guide ReGush. We are proud to fulfill his vision every single day.
